Children are rarely happier than when playing on a beach, and most of the beaches on Ibiza and Formentera provide safe conditions and good facilities.
If the beach gets boring, take the kids out on a pedalo or a glass-bottomed boat. What they spot below the boat is likely to whet the appetite of some of the older children for snorkelling.
When choosing your hotel, check on the special facilities many of them provide for children’s activities on the beach or around the swimming pool; some have children’s entertainment in the hotel as well.
Most of the riding stables scattered across the island have ponies for children. Trotting races at the two race courses are great fun for the whole family, too.
A leisurely way of getting around is on a donkey from the burro ranch near Santa Gertrudis — with sangria as a bonus for the parents!!.
There are two well-equipped water parks on Ibiza:
Aguamar, Platja d’en Bossa, tel: 971 396 790/971 300 671; and
Aqualandia, Cap Martinet, Talamanca, tel: 971 192 411.
Both waterparks open daily from lOam—7pm throughout the summer and there are bus services from Eivissa.
There are go-kart tracks in Santa Eulària and Sant Antoni; both are open daily in summer until midnight.Share
